Who Qualifies For The Bursary Or Student Loan From NSFAS?



The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has formally opened the 2025 application system.

Applications at the moment are open and can shut on 15 December 2024.

*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding

To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant will have to satisfy the subsequent criteria:

• Be considered a South African citizen or copyright who originates from a house having a combined gross residence income that doesn't exceed R350 000 per annum.

• Individuals with disabilities qualify if their combined domestic revenue does not exceed R600 000 per annum.

• SASSA recipients immediately qualify for funding and want not submit any proof of earnings.

The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open up to all South African citizens and permanent residents from households with combined R350 000 and R600 000 my nsfas for every annum.

Applicants are reminded to provide the right Identification Doc numbers, names, and surname, as reflected inside their South African ID.

NSFAS only funds people who are learning or intend to study at a public university or TVET college in South Africa.

All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until the last day.

Learners do not have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
